Pat Neven
CEO/Chairman, iGov
Patrick Neven founded iGov in 1996, offering government agencies worldwide manageable and cost-effective IT services and solutions. Today, iGov specializes in security, storage, wireless, and networking solutions through its iSolutions consulting practice; a full line of IT products; and asset information management solutions targeted to the Federal Government client. Beyond his strategic management of iGov, Mr. Neven is currently focusing on key vertical market initiatives that will provide targeted solutions for a variety of federal users.
Prior to forming iGov, Mr. Neven held several key marketing and managerial positions with prominent IT government contractors. Most recently, as Director of Federal Sales for Innova Communications, he led the firm to a record $50 million in 1995 sales. Prior to Innova, he served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing of BDS, Inc. During his 12-year tenure, the firm grew from a start-up to $100 million in annual sales, leading to its merger with BTG, Inc.
Mr. Neven was educated in North America and Europe, graduating from Saint Ambrose in England.
Mike Tyrrell
President/COO, iGov
Mike Tyrrell joined iGov in 2005 as Chief Financial Officer from Tatum LLC and was promoted to President & COO in December 2006. Mr. Tyrrell has over 24 years of professional experience and provides iGov with corporate, investment and financial management, strategic planning expertise, and value creation experience.
Mr. Tyrrell previously served as a senior executive for several other information technology companies in the Washington, DC area, including In-Q-Tel, Inc., KTI Network Solutions, and QuesTech, Inc. During his three years as CFO of In-Q-Tel, the venture capital arm of the intelligence community, he managed about $40 million per year in annual funding and helped In-Q-Tel close nearly 40 investment deals between 2000 and 2003. Prior to In-Q-Tel, Mr. Tyrrell helped KTI complete a successful restructuring and sold the company to ADI Technology, which is now owned by Perot Systems. As the Director of Corporate Development for QuesTech, a $90 million public company, he successfully fought a hostile takeover attempt and helped to sell the company to CACI, a friendly buyer, in 1998, which resulted in more than a 200% increase in the share price. Mike also directed all strategic planning efforts at QuesTech, which focused on growing the company. QuesTech grew from $50 million in 1995 to about $90 million in 1998, an 80% increase.
Mr. Tyrrell holds an MBA in Finance from George Mason University, a Masters in Telecommunications from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Scranton. He is also a Wharton Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School for continuing executive education. In addition, he has a CPA license from the State of Virginia.
Walter Hupalo
Senior Vice President, Business Development
Walter Hupalo is a co-founder iGov, establishing the government contracts and proposal division to support the company’s future growth to over $100 million dollars and the company’s national ranking as VAR and systems integrator. Today, he continues in his work in new business development and business capture management and also leads the company’s initiatives in ISO quality management systems and assurance.
Prior to the founding of iGov, Mr. Hupalo held several key contract and proposal management positions with leading IT government contractors. Most recently, he served as Director of Bids and Proposals for Innova Communications. Prior to Innova, he served as Proposal Manager of BDS, Inc. and continuing in that role after the merger with BTG, Inc.
Mr. Hupalo holds a Master’s in History from West Virginia University, and a Bachelor's in History from Bethany College. He is also has a Certificate in Distribution Management from Ohio State University and has study under the University of Virginia Contracts and Procurement Management Program.
Mr. Hupalo is a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).
Rich Marksberry
CFO, iGov
During his career, Mr. Marksberry has provided guidance and direction to companies and clients in various industries and vertical markets. As CFO and Controller for Siemens Government Services Inc., he drove the implementation of Deltek GCS Premier and established the financial policies and procedures for all accounting areas, which supported the company during its growth from 60 to 200+ people.
At CW Cook Co. Inc., Mr. Marksberry, as CFO and Controller, reorganized and implemented new policies and procedures while assisting with the sale at maximum value and the subsequent transition of the company to the new owners, and also was responsible for the systems and operations supporting and during the transition.
As a CPA, Marksberry established and developed a Computer Advisory Services Group as the Director of Client Technology Services for McGowan Guntermann, CPA’s and then for Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, CPA’s. He also handled technology consulting and advisory services including microcomputer systems selection, implementation and integration for Coopers & Lybrand clients in Los Angeles. Mr. Marksberry specializes in CFO services, controller services, IT governance, program management office, business strategy & IT alignment, and government contracting.
Jack Pooley
Senior Vice President, Sales
An original iGov cofounder, Mr. Pooley has over twenty years of experience supporting the federal government. Starting with a college internship supporting the U.S. Navy to his current position, he has held multiple key positions of ever-increasing responsibility. After college, he continued to support the Navy as a consultant for Booz-Allen & Hamilton.
His entrée into telecommunications and networking came as a network engineer for Innova Communications. Mr. Pooley was able to leverage his technical background into a position as Account Executive for Innova where he worked with the Navy and the DOD.
Within iGov’s first year of business, Mr. Pooley captured a $53 million Blanket Purchase Agreement with the Navy which was key to the company’s growth and profitability. Mr. Pooley held positions as VP of Sales and Marketing as well as being instrumental in launching the companies GSA agent program which led to his most recent position as President of iGov’s sister company; Government Channels Group. Mr. Pooley comes back to iGov after completing the two most profitable years in the GCG’s history.
Mr. Pooley holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from James Madison University.
